Kyocera's cutting tool business started with the ultra-high-speed ceramic tools which were introduced from Germany in 1971 by Dr. Inamori, founder and chairman emeritus of Kyocera Corporation. Kyocera began producing cutting tools in Japan soon after and today is one of the global leaders in the industrial cutting tool field.
